Ted Cruz Vows to ‘Kill the Terrorists’

For a candidate who once cooked bacon with a machine gun to make a viral video, Ted Cruz’s political ads have gotten a lot more serious. In his latest 30-second T.V. spot, the straight-faced senator vows that if he is elected president, he will “kill the terrorists,” and “never apologize for America.”

In the spot, Cruz echoes an increasingly popular Republican talking point, that, “Under President Obama and Secretary Clinton, the world is more dangerous.” He goes on to challenge “every Islamic militant,” promising “if you wage jihad against [the United States], you’re signing your death warrant.”

The ad comes after a barrage of attacks from the Rubio camp, which is continually hitting Cruz on national security for his support of ending the NSA’s metadata collection program.

Cruz’s ad first aired in Iowa on Saturday, during the Big 10 Conference’s football championship game, which featured the Iowa Hawkeyes. It will run for the next week, and will be interspersed with another ad featuring an endorsement from Representative Steve King – another hardline conservative politician, who represents a chunk of western Iowa.

Pro-Ted Cruz Super PAC Keep The Promise 1 is back in action with a diagnosis for American voters: Clinton Fatigue.

This week, the multi million-dollar Super PAC released its first attack ad, portraying an overcrowded hospital ward with zombie-like patients who are inflicted with the “awful” ailment caused by Hillary Clinton’s many scandals.

Paging Dr. Cruz

The ad follows two doctors around the ward as they look upon the sickly patients.

“We haven’t seen anything like this since the 90’s,” the doctor says.

“Well they’ve been through a lot,” he goes on, “email scandals, questionable donations from foreign governments, cronyism… even pantsuits.”

The doctors walk out of frame and over the intercom we hear “Paging Dr. Cruz, Dr. Cruz to the emergency room.”

Super PAC Says Voters Need an Extra Dose of Ted

Keep the Promise 1 rolled out a seven-figure ad buy to promote Ted Cruz earlier this month. The Super PAC is one of four similarly named groups led by an all-star lineup of conservative political media professionals, including one of the people behind “Hillary: The Movie.”

Kellyanne Conway, the president of the PAC, released a statement along with the ad claiming, “Americans have Clinton fatigue – they are tired of the same old ideas, same old political entitlement, same old personal enrichment, same old casual relationship with the truth.”

Keep the Promise 1 tapped into an “A-List Hollywood team” to make the ad, said spokeswoman Kristina Hernandez in an email to the Dallas Morning News.

That company appears to be Beverly Hills-based Glittering Steel LLC, which received $40,000 from Keep the Promise I, according to FEC filings from Aug. 5 and 9.

While the organization thinks voters are suffering from a Clinton-overdose, Ted Cruz better hope he can find a remedy for his low-poll condition. He’s currently in a three-way tie for fourth place with Scott Walker and Marco Rubio, lingering around 7%. And all three of them continue to be a long shot away from billionaire Donald Trump.

Texas firebrand Ted Cruz is campaigning through the American South in a rock band style tour bus – sweeping up Tea Party support (and money) as he goes.

Ted’s “Cruz to the White House” tour is making for some prime B-roll opportunities for cutting new ads – all of which are chalk full of wide crowd shots and cuts of Ted Cruz’s fiery oration.

The tour culminates August 21, at what Cruz is calling a “Rally for Religious Freedom” in Des Moines, IA. According to the online invitation, the rally is going to feature “special guests victimized by government persecution.” Um, ok…

The Cruz Country tour is making stops in South Carolina, Georgia, Alabama Tennessee, Mississippi, Arkansas, Oklahoma and Texas.

Ted Cruz Strategically Positions Himself In Other Red States

While establishment candidates like Jeb Bush, Marco Rubio and Scott Walker are focusing on early primary states like Iowa and New Hampshire, Ted Cruz is trying to pull the rug out from under them in other red states.

One of Cruz’s advisors told Politico that, “The Cruz campaign believes Bush, Walker and Rubio have made a flawed political calculation to compete in the establishment bracket and, therefore, position themselves as moderates in the race leaving Cruz as the only well-funded conservative candidate.”

We will see how that plays out in the primary.

A Desperate Attempt for Attention?

If you thought his Simpsons impersonation video wasn’t weird enough, Ted Cruz takes it to the next level in this new video from the IJReview.

The presidential hopeful hits an indoor gun range to show Iowans how Texans cook their bacon – with a little more firepower.

He wraps a few strips around the barrel of a machine gun – Tijuana Danger Dog Style – and opens fire. Four 5.56mm magazines later, the grease starts to drip and Cruz peels back the tin foil to reveal the crispy result:

Judging by Cruz’s almost immediate wince after putting the bacon in his mouth, maybe he should have fried some eggs on the sidewalk to go with his breakfast.

Donald Trump catapulted himself to the top of Republican polls after a string of controversial statements brought him national attention.

Apparently, this gave low-polling candidates an idea: if you go viral, get weird, you get attention. And the results have been hilarious.

Ted Cruz Leads the War on Planned Parenthood

Planned Parenthood has been the target of scathing headlines after two videos were leaked that suggested doctors from the organization profited from the sale of tissue from aborted fetuses.

While Planned Parenthood forcefully denies the allegations, presidential hopeful and pro-life supporter Ted Cruz was quick to comment on the scandal by releasing an attack ad calling to defund the organization.

Set to ominous music and featuring the harsh red, black and white color scheme typical of attack ads, Cruz’s new spot hardly treads lightly on the issue.

It shows Cruz speaking at the Family Leadership Summit in Iowa, declaring the content in the Center for Medical Progress’ sting videos to be “gruesome and disgusting.” He critiques the abortion doctors for showing “no empathy, no compassion, no emotion” when discussing the matter.

The ad includes the undercover footage where one of the doctors jokes, “I want a Lamborghini,” juxtaposed with Fox News’ Megyn Kelly reporting that Planned Parenthood “took over half a billion dollars in the process.”

The Planned Parenthood Controversy & Response

Individuals from the Center for Medical Progress, a pro-life group, posed as buyers from a fake biotech company and secretly filmed their meeting with Planned Parenthood officials in an effort to catch the doctors breaking federal law.

Planned Parenthood was quick to respond to the allegations. In CEO Cecile Richards’ video response, she asserts, “the allegation that Planned Parenthood profits in any way from tissue donation is not true. Our donation programs, like any other high quality healthcare providers’, follow all laws and ethical guidelines.”

She continues by apologizing for the doctor’s statements and clarifies that women and families make their own decision to donate tissue for medical research to fight diseases like Parkinson and Alzheimer’s.

Planned Parenthood supporters also argue that the viral video is a hoax and that the funds discussed were regarding the cost of transport of the delicate biological tissue, to research centers.

Opponents Call For DOJ to Investigate Planned Parenthood

ted-cruz-defund-planned-parenthood-lamborghiniNevertheless, Cruz and many other opponents are calling for the Department of Justice to spend taxpayer dollars to open an investigation to prosecute Planned Parenthood and “cut off every penny of taxpayer funds” supporting the organization.

Unfortunately for Cruz and the rest of the #DefundPP camp, a recent announcement by the DOJ stated that they will instead be investigating the group that filmed the videos in question, for obtaining the footage illegally.
